Permanence and firmness are two essential features of Dura carpet cushions. Some carpet cushions have an initial firmness (even firmer than Dura) but collapse under heavier loads. They also tend to lose this firmness, dramatically, under extended wear conditions. The graph below demonstrates the relative performances of Duracushion and a “commercial contract” polyurethane product using graft polyol. Both have been subjected to the Tetrapod Walker Test.
