DURA-SON MB ^® for engineered wood floors

Test results

A third party Acoustical test was made on an 8” slab with a 14mm oak engineered hardwood floor over Dura-Son 3.5mm (1/8”), no suspended ceiling. Dura-Son obtained an FIIC 69, a substantially higher rating than most condo associations require.

FIIC is a measure of impact sound transmission from one floor to another. The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) recommends an FIIC 55. A higher FIIC rating means better sound absorption.
